Does love really conquer all? Or does comedy? It seems like there’s a Romeo and Juliet in technology story with a funny twist circulating in YouTube that’s garnering traction lately. Well, to placate your curiosity, Comediva—a website that showcases comedic original and editorial content for women has created a video will shed some light if this incident were to happen. In their YouTube video entitled ‘G-male and Siri: A love story’ –Gmail or shall we say, G-male meets iPhone assistant Siri in the magical land of technology called Silicon Valley. They fall in love until Hot-male gets into the picture and ruins their relationship.
Comediva includes other special appearances from Blackberry, Aol and of course, Yahoo. It’s all about falling in love in the simplest forms, boy meets girl and girl meets the boy. They fall in love from their mutual understanding of the world. They go through honeymoon bliss until Hot-male makes its way into the scene. Flaunting his hot body, Siri is of course intrigued by his physique, which inevitably makes G-male very jealous. Later on, they break up but only to fall back into each others’ arms again. In three days time, Comediva has already garnered 70,000+ YouTube views since their upload.
Given the limited time, it has become a popular video for the public. YouTube vloggers and aspiring YouTube stars can come to learn a great deal from Comediva. Although having started in March 2011, they have already earned recognition on the web community for delivering great videos to share. In its first week of the release of their beta version, it had received over 200,000 views.
Jezebel.com called Comediva “the lady answer to Funnyordie and CollegeHumor”, Punchline Magazine was “super impressed”, saying Comediva was “worth your time.” Sexy Feminist applauded saying “there is now a home on the internet where female comedians and comedy writers won’t be cast aside because their humor wasn’t ‘male centric’ enough…” But the best compliment was when Tubefilter called Comediva as a hub of “refreshingly unashamed female-driven comedy.”
Comediva has been talked about in the Huffpost, Comedy, Adweek, Technolog on MSNBC.com, DigitalLife on the Today Show, Business Insider, Glamour, Jezebel, Techtalk, Gizmodo, Buzzfeed, Neatorama, OK! Magazine, Tubefilter, Daily News LA, Sidereel and Laugh Spin. Phew! Given that much attention, we can only hope to expect more videos to be posted on their YouTube channel.
With extended exposure from these sites, we can only expect this to increase YouTube views to their website and channel. If you wish to become just like Comediva in terms of growth trajectory, having a good team is very important. If you’re a one man show, then maybe a partner who can help you develop and collaborate a storyboard and the music score. In the end, it seems that comedy rules the YouTube sphere. Love stories are nice, but having a nice twist is always better. Catch Comediva’s YouTube channel here for more of their videos.
